HAMPTON CHAMBER DONATES AUCTION PROCEEDS TO LOCAL NON-PROFITS

The Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce recently donated half of the net proceeds from the Annual Holiday Auction to three local non-profit organizations located within the Chamber's coverage area. Representatives of The Salvation Army, Seabrook Community Table, and St. Vincent de Paul of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal met at the Chamber office, where Chamber President B. J. "Doc" Noel presented a check for $1,200 to each of the organizations.
Accepting for St. Vincent de Paul of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal was Jack Leary, who explained the mission: "The Society is a parish-based but worldwide lay spiritual society devoted to those in need. Our parish organized a branch of the Society in 1989. We now operate a Food Pantry and Clothing Loft year round in thePantryBuildingat289 Lafayette Rd.inHamptonandSaint Vincent's Kitchen atHamptonBeachfrom mid-October to mid-May. This year we expect to supply a total of 32,000 equivalent meals at the Pantry and 4000 meals at the Kitchen where members and non-member volunteers cook and serve the meals two nights per week. Other organizations (e.g., Hampton Rotary Club) and churches serve meals the other nights and Saturdaynoonlunch."
Representing the Seabrook Community Table was Joyce Addison, Coordinator, Seabrook Community Table, who explained, "People helping people is what it's all about. We serve free home cooked meals to seacoast residents facing tough economic times." Seabrook Community Table provides free meals to Seabrook residents and residents of surrounding communities. They welcome all to join in a meal and bring their families, friends, and neighbors. For more information and locations, call Joyce Addison at 603-474-9608.
Major DonnaMarie Reed accepted the donation for The Salvation Army inHampton, located at418 Lafayette Road. The Salvation Army was founded as an evangelical organization dedicated to bringing people into a meaningful relationship with God through Christ. They rely on donations of food, household goods, monetary donations, etc., to do good within the community. To learn more about donating goods or food this holiday season, call 603-929-1729.
The Chamber also raised $520 for Rockingham County Meals on Wheels through auction donations. A contribution of $750 was made toHamptonParksand Rec to fund an additional horse-drawn carriage for the town Christmas tree lighting celebration.
